The Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) once again becomes the epicenter of brief but significant climate changes. After a brief respite of sunshine and temperatures reaching 15 °C on Thursday, the region is preparing for the arrival of intermittent rains that will mark the end of this winter truce. According to the National Meteorological Service, this Friday will see the return of atmospheric instability.
Return of rains and weather improvements
Forecasts indicate that the morning and early afternoon of Friday will concentrate the highest probability of precipitation. It is expected that between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the suburbs will experience weak intermittent drizzles. Although these rains will not be intense, residents are advised to carry an umbrella, without expecting severe storms.
Despite the humid conditions, continuous rains that could cause significant flooding on the streets are not forecasted. The day will remain cool, with minimum temperatures of 8 °C and maximums that could reach 16 °C, accompanied by moderate winds from the north.
As the night progresses, the instability front will move north, allowing weather conditions to gradually improve towards the weekend.
For Saturday and Sunday, widespread rains are not expected in the AMBA, providing relief to those wishing to enjoy outdoor recreational activities. However, high humidity and calm winds could favor the formation of dense fog in the mornings, affecting visibility on highways and main streets.
The weather will become milder thanks to the wind shifting to the north, which will drive a gradual increase in temperatures. Maximum temperatures could range between 15 °C and 17 °C, making the afternoons more pleasant and sunny.
This trend towards warmer weather will continue into the following week, with maximums that could reach 19 °C or 20 °C, promising a series of pleasant and drier days.
