With a call of about 50 people, an environmental restoration day of native forests was carried out at the nursery of the Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi (Bariloche) in the Escuela Militar de Montaña.
The activity was organized by the civil association Circuito Verde along with Parques Nacionales, and focused on the prevention of forest fires and the recovery of native ecosystems.
## Forest Fires: technical dialogue and prevention strategies
Brigadiers and specialists shared tools to reduce risks in urban-rural interface areas.
The meeting had the participation of the Department of Fires, Communications, and Emergencies of the Park, whose technicians and brigadiers offered a talk on the characteristics of large-scale fires and those occurring in urban-rural interface areas.
It delved into the concept of prevention, community outreach in vulnerable neighborhoods, and fuel load management, generating an enriching debate among attendees. Additionally, a form to evaluate local statistics on fuel vegetation management was presented.

## Volunteer work and restoration of native forests at the nursery
Production of native plants, improvement of infrastructure, and organization of forest waste.
The day included practical environmental volunteer activities, where participants organized into groups to:
– Produce and transplant native plants
– Prepare substrates for cultivation
– Smooth internal paths of the nursery
– Classify and organize forest waste
These actions contribute to strengthening the nursery as a restoration space and facilitating future environmental recovery tasks.
## Circuito Verde: three programs to transform the relationship with the territory
Environmental education, community orchards, and restoration of native ecosystems.
The civil association Circuito Verde, formed by volunteers, carries out its work through three main programs:
– Circulando Saberes: promotes environmental education in schools, with workshops and didactic activities
– Sembrando Comunidad: drives a community school garden in the El Frutillar neighborhood, with open meetings and training in agroecology
– Plantando Patagonia: organizes plantings and ecological restoration days in forests affected by fires, extractions of invasive exotic species, and interventions in urban patches
## Restore to prevent: a comprehensive vision of environmental care
The day in Bariloche strengthens the link between community, territory, and ecological resilience.
These types of meetings not only promote the recovery of native ecosystems but also strengthen collective awareness of the role of citizenship in fire prevention and sustainable environmental management.
The articulation between civil organizations, public institutions, and neighbors demonstrates that ecological restoration is also a tool for social transformation.
