In the heart of the Regional Environmental Technological Industrial Park (PITAR), in Rivadavia, the company Indram Clean Technology is redefining industrial recycling in Argentina.
With a state-of-the-art plant specialized in the treatment of end-of-life tires (ELT), especially those from the mining industry, Indram positions itself as a national leader in environmental innovation.
Emission-free and chemical-free technology
Unlike traditional methods such as burning or smelting, the process developed by Indram is based on:
- Mechanical cutting and shredding of tires
- Total absence of chemicals and polluting emissions
- Obtaining reusable rubber granules
“We aim to be a positive agent of change, creating a regional value chain with zero environmental impact,” explained Gisella Heredia, coordinator of institutional and commercial development at Indram, to Diario Huarpe portal.

From mining waste to input for new industries
The rubber granules obtained are used as a raw material in various applications:
- Rubber floors for parks and sports fields
- Commercial carpets
- Playgrounds and urban furniture
This transformation allows complex waste integration into new sustainable production chains, promoting the circular economy.
Alliance with mining to reduce environmental liabilities
More than 3,750 tons of OTR tires treated at Veladero mining site.
Since December 2020, Indram has been working with Minera Andina del Sol, operator of the Veladero mining site located at 4,200 meters above sea level in Iglesia. There, they have recycled:
- 3,750 tons of OTR (Off The Road) tires
- Part of an environmental liability exceeding 12,000 tons in San Juan alone
It is estimated that Argentinian mining generates about 3,500 tons of rubber waste annually, making this initiative key for the environmental management of the sector.
Technological leadership and national expansion
Currently, there are only three plants of this kind in Argentina, and Indram’s is the most technologically advanced. The company aims to:
- Expand the service to other provinces
- Generate local employment and sustainable development
- Offer concrete solutions to complex environmental problems
“We not only solve an environmental problem, but we also drive innovation and employment,” highlighted Heredia.
A replicable model for ecological transition
Industrial recycling, circular economy, and regional development in action.
Indram’s experience demonstrates how technology applied to recycling can:
- Reduce environmental liabilities
- Revalue industrial waste
- Strengthen regional economies
- Contribute to the transition to cleaner production
