The National Police have arrested a 53-year-old woman in Alicante for allegedly throwing her two dogs out the window of her eighth-floor apartment because she was “fed up” of taking them for a walk. The detainee appeared in court this Monday and they will consider the sentence she deserves for such an act of animal cruelty.
According to the investigations carried out by the police, they arrived at the scene after receiving a report that a woman had thrown her two pets from her home arguing that she didn’t want to take them for a walk “because it was always her turn”.
The events took place last Sunday at noon in the Alicante neighborhood of La Albufereta, when several neighbors saw the dogs fall from an eighth floor, of the Yorkshire Terrier breed. She first threw one of them, then objects from the animal, and finally the second dog, according to eyewitnesses.
The officers confirmed the ownership of the animals that died instantly through their microchips and went up to the home where the woman herself admitted to the facts and was immediately arrested, according to the same sources. The remains of the dogs thrown out the window were bagged and taken to a shelter pending the results of the necropsy.
