The Secretary-General of the United Nations, **António Guterres**, warned that [the **transition to renewable energies**](https://noticiasambientales.com/innovacion/empleos-verdes-las-demandas-y-oportunidades-de-la-transicion-energetica/) is unstoppable and that no government will be able to stop the advancement of the **clean energy revolution**.
His statements were made at the closing of a **virtual climate summit**, organized together with Brazilian President **Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva**. ## Energy policy at the center of the debate
Although Guterres did not mention any specific country, his words come at a time when **the United States**, under the leadership of **Donald Trump**, has decided to **withdraw the country from the Paris Agreement** once again.
The U.S. President has also promoted **coal extraction** and has given **priority to fossil fuels**, in contrast to the global trend towards **decarbonization**.
## Climate summit with world leaders
The meeting brought together **17 leaders** from various regions, with the aim of **strengthening climate commitments** ahead of **COP30 in Belém, Brazil**.

**“The path to escape the climate hell goes through renewable energies”**, Guterres stated, emphasizing that science and the economy **favor the energy transition**.
This call reinforces the need for **ambitious policies** to accelerate the adoption of **clean energy sources**, facing the effects of **climate change through a clean energy revolution**.
