The city of Paraná will become the center of the environmental debate on October 8 and 9 by hosting the “Federal Meeting on the way to the world summit COP30″.
This initiative, promoted by the Argentine Green Alliance, will bring together specialists and organizations from all over the country and the region with the aim of defining a joint stance for the world summit on climate change, scheduled for November in Belém, Brazil.
The formal announcement of the event took place at the Entre Ríos House, located in Buenos Aires. The presentation was attended by prominent figures such as the Environment Secretary of the province, Rosa Hojman; the director of the Entre Ríos House, José Mouliá; the minister counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in Argentina, Carlos Cuenca; the Secretary of Environment and Climate Change of La Pampa, Vanina Basso; and the Director of Environment and Climate Change of Entre Ríos, Maximiliano Gómez. In addition, the event was attended by representatives from various public and private entities.

During the presentation, Rosa Hojman emphasized the importance of the role played by the provinces in the fight against climate change. “Entre Ríos assumes with enormous commitment the organization of this federal meeting,” she stated.
“We want our province to be a meeting point to build a common agenda, one that integrates production and sustainability, projecting Argentina more strongly in the international discussion on climate change.”
The official also highlighted “the commitment and leadership of our governor Rogelio Frigerio, whose vision drives us to continue working tirelessly for a more sustainable future for our province and for all of Argentina.”
Referring to the spirit of the Argentine Green Alliance, Hojman added: “Together, we are building a unified voice that seeks to elevate the responses that our regions need at the climate negotiation table.”
From the perspective of our territories and with the urgency imposed by the climate crisis, that unity is what will allow us to speak with strength.”
On the other hand, Maximiliano Gómez informed that the agenda in Paraná will include debates on crucial topics such as climate finance, carbon markets, fair energy transition, and the presentation of provincial experiences in areas such as bioeconomy, forests, and biodiversity.
He explained that the purpose of the meeting goes beyond mere exchange of ideas; it seeks to build concrete proposals that can be presented at the international forum with strength and political backing.
The launch was also attended by representatives from a wide range of organizations, including Avina, the Alliance for Climate Action Argentina, the New Generation Argentina Foundation, CREA, the Wildlife Foundation, the Argentine Chamber of Renewable Energies, the Sustainability Without Borders Foundation, the Petersen Group, the Quimiguay Group, the Forest Bank Foundation, Genesis, the Carbon Platform, and the Municipality of Vicente López.
