The city of Córdoba is getting ready to host the first International Climate Conference: “Latin American Commitment towards COP30”.
It will take place from July 1st to 3rd at the local Convention Center and will involve more than 600 children and young students.
This important climate event will bring together over 40 speakers from around the world, in anticipation of the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2025 (COP30) to be held in November in Belém, Brazil.
What to expect at the International Climate Conference in Córdoba
The ICC will be in Córdoba.
Organized by the Government of Córdoba and the Municipality of Córdoba, the ICC aims to accelerate climate action in Latin America, promoting consensus and collaborative solutions.
The event will involve key figures from the public, private, academic sectors, and civil society.
One of the highlighted features of this edition will be the active participation of children and young people in a series of activities parallel to the main talks and presentations.
Throughout the three days, workshops, dialogue spaces, and co-creation dynamics focused on specific environmental challenges will take place.
The educational space at the ICC
On July 2nd, the Climathon, an educational and participatory space, will be held.
More than 600 students from 5th and 6th year of high schools across the province will work in teams to identify local environmental issues and design sustainable solutions.
These activities are coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Circular Economy of Córdoba, the Ministry of Education, the entity BioCórdoba, the organization Ecohouse, and the Córdoba Youth Agency.

The young participants will receive training on climate change, adaptation and mitigation strategies, with a local and participatory approach.
Additionally, municipal schools from the provincial capital will join. In this case, students and teachers will take part in various initiatives, such as guided tours of the Biodiversity Park and the Sky Earth Plaza, integrating educational experiences with environmental awareness.
