The recycling cooperative Creando Conciencia, located in Benavídez (Tigre district), announced the acquisition of a Dongfeng electric truck, which will arrive in the country in the next 90 days.
It is a zero-emission vehicle, specially designed for the collection and transportation of urban waste, with an integrated compression system that increases useful capacity and reduces discharge frequency.
The president of the cooperative, Ramiro Martínez, emphasized that this addition aims for “greater and better environmental management” through technological innovation.
Vehicle Features
- 100% electric, eliminating direct emissions of polluting gases.
- Noise reduction, providing benefits to the urban environment and environmental health.
- Integrated compression system, allowing for the collection and compression of waste in the same container.
- Large load volume, ideal for cities, residential communities, tourist areas, and industrial complexes.
- Reliable hydraulic structure, facilitating loading and unloading.
- Advanced sealing system, minimizing leaks and odors, preventing secondary contamination.
- Practical and safe maintenance, with after-sales warranty and availability of spare parts.
Martínez summarized: “This model represents a sustainable and high-performance solution, ideal for organizations looking to modernize their fleets with electric technology and reduce their environmental impact.”

The Creando Conciencia Cooperative
Founded in 2006, Creando Conciencia emerged in response to local concerns about the final disposal of waste and the precarious conditions of waste pickers. Today it has 51 members, collection contracts in neighborhoods of Benavídez and Tigre, and agreements with private companies.
Its main objectives are:
- Environmental care through the separation, classification, and recycling of waste.
- Labor reintegration of former waste pickers, transformed into environmental promoters certified by the Faculty of Agronomy of the UBA.
- Community training to promote separation at source.
The cooperative is recognized as one of the few Sustainable Destinations in the province of Buenos Aires, ensuring the traceability of recyclable waste. Additionally, it holds the presidency of the Federation of Cooperative Workers (FETRACOOP) and the Argentine Confederation of Associated Cooperative Workers (CONARCOOP), being a reference for the National Network of Fecootra Recyclers.
The incorporation of the Dongfeng electric truck reinforces Creando Conciencia’s commitment to technological innovation and sustainability. The initiative not only improves operational efficiency but also symbolizes progress in the transition towards cleaner and more responsible waste management models, aligned with social reintegration and environmental care.
