In a year where the world cup spirit permeates all of Latin America, the Climate Cup proposes to bring that passion to schools.
Through play, teamwork, and creativity, students and teachers become protagonists of a challenge that combines soccer, learning, and climate action.
The World Cup draws crowds, so why not bring that energy to schools? The Climate Cup 2026 invites teachers and students from all over Latin America to participate in an educational competition on sustainability and climate change, 100% free for public and private educational institutions in the region.
Driven by the Eco House Global NGO, the initiative is aimed at young people aged 16 to 18 and their teachers.
Throughout the competition, teams advance through a digital platform, where they earn points, access training on sustainability and climate change, and compete for incredible prizes.
In the final stage of the cup, they develop a solution to an environmental problem in their community. It’s a different “world cup” that seeks to bring action for the planet to schools across Latin America.
How to play in the Climate Cup?
The competition is 100% online and is open to schools across Latin America. To participate, each team must consist of two students and one teacher from the same school.
They register through the platform (www.copaclimatica.com.ar) and begin to advance in the challenges of the Cup.
They go through five thematic modules —climate change science, mitigation, adaptation, cities and gender, and citizen revolution— that combine learning and lots of play.
The team that reaches the final stages must work from a key question: what socio-environmental problem does my community have and how can I solve it?
From that trigger, the students develop a project with the support of mentorships to transform that question into a concrete proposal. Only the best will reach the grand final!
Key dates of the Climate Cup 2026:

Projects that have already made history
Can you imagine that an idea born in a school could change a community… or even reach public policies?
In previous editions of the Climate Cup, students from all over Latin America took to the field with their ideas and turned them into real solutions to the climate crisis.
Some projects went so far that they transcended the school and reached ministries and environmental secretariats, for implementation in their territories. Among the highlighted initiatives are:
- Revive la Quebrada (Ecuador) – environmental recovery through waste management.
- Echar Raíces (Argentina) – school reforestation with native species.
- Ecolab (Argentina) – oil recycling and local job creation.
- Eichhornia Sostenible (Colombia) – natural biofilters for water care.
