Corporate leaders from across the country gathered in the Cuyo province at the National B Companies Meeting, presenting new success stories and launching the “B Route of Mendoza“, a sustainable tourist and gastronomic guide.
The capital of Mendoza was the epicenter of sustainable economic development this Friday as it hosted the National B Companies Meeting 2025. The event brought together 100 executives and leaders from 15 productive sectors from various regions of Argentina, with the common goal of enhancing an economic system that prioritizes social and environmental well-being alongside financial profitability.
The choice of venue was no coincidence. Mendoza currently ranks third nationally in the number of certified B Companies, with 29 organizations, behind the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires. However, the Cuyo province leads in the density rate of these companies relative to the total number of local businesses.
Marina Arias, Executive Director of Sistema B Argentina, highlighted the region’s leading role: “Mendoza has always been fertile ground for the development of the B Movement.” Arias emphasized the existing collaboration between the private sector, the provincial government, municipalities, and academia to promote sustainable development policies.
In this vein, Sebastián Barboza, General Manager of Bodega Lagarde, recalled significant local milestones: “Mendoza was the first province to approve an Ordinance on Impact Public Procurement and hosts the first public university in Latin America with an undergraduate degree oriented towards triple impact.”
Innovation and collaboration: the cases presented at the National B Companies Meeting
The forum served as a platform to inspire through concrete examples of business collaboration. Four initiatives stood out:
- A survey on de-plasticization strategies conducted by Unplastify.
- The alliance between Cook Master and Buplasa, which managed to replace disposable plastic trays in prison systems and incorporate recyclable collection.
- The B Route, a triple impact tourism proposal promoted by Esencia Patagonia.
- The B-Fest, an event that merges wine and gastronomy with social purposes in the province.
Constanza Carillo, Director of Communities at Sistema B Argentina, described the meeting as a “space for celebration and reflection” vital for recharging energies and finding joint solutions that companies could not achieve individually.
Economic impact and launch of the B Route at the National B Companies Meeting
The Mendoza B ecosystem demonstrates significant economic weight: its companies generate 1,900 local jobs and a combined annual revenue of 65 million dollars. To showcase this offering, Sistema B Argentina officially presented during the event the “B Route of Mendoza“, a guide that groups certified wineries, restaurants, and tourist experiences.
Nationally, the movement continues to expand. Argentina has 277 B Companies that generate more than 44,000 jobs and bill more than 5.206 billion dollars annually, positioning the country as the second in Latin America (after Brazil) and ninth in the world ranking, which totals 10,259 companies in 102 countries.
Closing with local celebration
After the working days at the National B Companies Meeting, the agenda concluded with the fourth edition of the B-Fest at the Trivento facilities. This event featured the participation of the other eight B wineries in the country: Araujo, CARO, Dolium Bodega Subterránea, Domaine Bousquet, Kaiken, Lagarde, Penedo Borges, and The Wine Plan.
The local triple impact ecosystem is completed with a varied offering that includes restaurants such as Centauro, Bosco, La Marchigiana, Nipoti, Bianco & Nero, and Criolla; tour operators like Aconcagua Visión and Reserva Villavicencio; and companies from various services like Almacén Frat, Reciclarg, Eco Coyum, Quinto Impacto, Vivero San Nicolás, San Nicolás Plantas de Vid, Vivero Productora, Grupo Broda, Supra, and SUMSA.
