Isla Martín García: history and nature in one destination

Located about two hours from the City of Buenos Aires, Isla Martín García is a destination of great historical and natural value. Its geological origin and its fusion with Timoteo Domínguez Island, belonging to Uruguay, turned this small territory into the only dry border between both nations. Administratively, it depends on the La Plata district and is part of the province of Buenos Aires.

The journey to the island is done by water, either by catamaran, boat, or private vessels departing from Tigre or Puerto Madero. With an area of 168 hectares and a stable population of around 200 inhabitants, the destination combines rocky beaches and a lush gallery forest. Walking through its trails is like visiting an open-air museum, where vestiges of its past as a prison and military base can be found.

Additionally, the island harbors a rich biodiversity and is home to numerous bird species, making it a paradise for ecotourism lovers and nature photographers.

Isla Paulino: a natural refuge just steps from the city

Just 63 kilometers from the Federal Capital, Isla Paulino stands as an ideal option for those seeking tranquility without moving too far away. It is accessed from the port of Berisso by boats or private vessels, and its natural environment offers a break from urban rhythm.

The island is a coastal forest with an extensive beach bathing in the waters of the Río de la Plata. Among its attractions, fruit and vegetable farms stand out, as well as green spaces and ideal recreation areas for rest. It has a store for supplies, camping areas for those who wish to sleep under the stars, and cabins for those who prefer more comfort. In summer, there is also a lifeguard service for added safety.

For fishing enthusiasts, Isla Paulino is a paradise. From its pier, you can catch species like silversides, bream, golden catfish, and catfish, and it is also possible to rent boats to venture into the river and enjoy the complete experience.
