They manufacture espadrilles with recycled marine waste

Payote espadrilles collaborates with Seaqual to produce a line of espadrilles made with recycled marine waste.

In this collaboration, Seaqual directly collects tons of marine litter brought by fishing boats from various ports of the Spanish Mediterranean committed to protecting the sea.

The espadrilles are made with recycled marine waste transformed into polyester fiber. There are six models of espadrilles for women, men, and children, each with unique designs inspired by marine life.

Models and Design

Among the models are the Franklin and the Adrian with turtle illustrations, the Moana with waves, the Ocean with whales, the Salome with lobsters, the Ocean with seaweed, and the Colin with corals, all historical victims of plastic waste in the ocean.

Resistance and Quality

The new range adds to the 250 existing models. Payote espadrilles are especially resistant, with recycled polyester fabric, Italian seams, and a natural sole sewn with 18 threads.

As Payote is a family workshop, you can embroider on the espadrilles whatever you want: a brand logo, a name, or a message for an authentic and artisan gift.

Payote’s History

Founded in 2016 by Olivier Gelly in Mauléon, in the center of the Basque Country, Payote has sold more than 20,000 pairs in its first year. The company focuses on the circular economy, working with natural materials and recycled marine waste.
