Danone reached a historic milestone by becoming the first major food company to certify 100% of its operations as a B Corporation globally.

Audited by B Lab, the BCorp certification is not just a seal but a standard that guides every strategic decision and obliges the company to continuously evolve in each recertification.

This achievement represents the culmination of more than ten years of continuous improvement towards a model that prioritizes responsible governance, positive impact on people, climate action, and sustainable resource management.

The recognition lies not only in the certification process but in the trajectory that Danone has built since its origins. The company was born with a dual-purpose vision and has strengthened this approach through the Danone Impact Journey, its strategic framework that integrates economic, social, and environmental criteria into business management.

In health and nutrition, it develops science-based foods and beverages, continuously improving its recipes to incorporate beneficial nutrients and reduce critical ones. Recent achievements include:

  • Reduction of more than 90% of sugars in children’s products.
  • Reduction of more than 40% of sugars in its total portfolio.

This work is complemented by educational initiatives, healthy habits programs, and projects with the Danone Foundation to improve nutrition and promote the well-being of consumers and patients.

Environmental Action

In environmental matters, the company promotes an active strategy of mitigation and adaptation to climate change. This involves measuring its carbon footprint under international standards and working with producers to reduce methane emissions.

Among its most recent actions:

  • Agreement with 360Energy allowing 90% of the energy used to come from clean sources.
  • Development of recyclable or reusable packaging, integrated into circular economy programs such as the Programa Recuperadores, in partnership with Fundación Avina.
  • Management of the Villavicencio Natural Reserve (Argentina) and the Salus Natural Reserve (Uruguay).
