Environment Month: San Vicente promotes environmental education with activities for youth and residents

Students from the Agricultural School No. 1 participated in a learning day at the Provincial Native Plant Nursery, while the Laguna de San Vicente Natural Reserve continues to offer open proposals to the community during the Environment Month.

The activity allowed young people to learn firsthand about the work carried out at the nursery to strengthen local ecosystems and improve the environmental quality of the territories. During the tour, they discussed the importance of native species, plant care, and the protection of natural habitats.

Additionally, they participated in practical experiences related to horticultural planting, recognizing seasonal seedlings, observing beneficial insects, compost production, and planting seeds for gardens, incorporating tools and knowledge that strengthen their educational and work training.

The day was held within the framework of the Secondary Professional Education program, which promotes the reconnection of young people with the educational system through training proposals oriented to the world of work.

Upcoming activities at the Laguna de San Vicente Natural Reserve

As part of the environmental agenda planned for this month, the Laguna de San Vicente Natural Reserve will continue to offer activities open to the community.

Adoption of native trees

Every Friday, from 10 am to 3 pm, the residents of San Vicente can collect a native tree for free to plant in public spaces such as sidewalks, squares, parks, and community spaces.

To access the specimen, it will be necessary to present an ID with an address in the district and complete a form indicating where it will be planted. The initiative aims to promote urban forestation with native species and strengthen citizen commitment to the environment.
