Creating Awareness is the cooperative in Tigre dedicated to environmental care and the social reintegration of former waste pickers. They recently launched a new line of composters made with collected, sorted, and recycled plastic.
The production of the composters is carried out by the cooperative itself, completing the value chain. The organization is responsible for the entire process: starting from the waste collection, sorting, baling, acquiring the plastic wood, and finally the design, manufacturing, and sales.

These composters are used to break down organic waste such as fruit scraps, vegetables, leaves, and other biodegradable materials, turning them into nutrient-rich compost for your plants.
In this case, the work of the cooperative focuses on raising awareness about the role of each individual in recycling, environmental care, and reducing open-air landfills.
The work they carry out puts in the hands of citizens the possibility of also contributing their share to composting their own waste, a trend that has been evolving in recent years but still has a lot of room to grow.

The new composters add to a wide range of recycled products that the cooperative has been offering. Among others, urban furniture, deck chairs, planters, school supplies, mate cups, and coat hangers.
“Through the composters, we achieve a double purpose: on the one hand, adding value to the materials we recycle by offering products with better market valuation, and at the same time, offering an element that follows the Creating Awareness philosophy of caring for the environment and contributing to the reduction of waste generated in cities,” emphasized Ramiro Martínez, president of Creating Awareness.
