Inspiring Stories: The Workplace Impact of a Salesian Values Education

“`html

On June 24th, the Salesian Alumni Day was celebrated, with inspiring stories, marking a date that goes beyond mere commemoration.

It is an opportunity to recognize the pathways of those who, thanks to their time in Salesian houses, have managed to make a real and positive impact with inspiring stories in both their own lives and their communities, especially in the work environment.

This celebration highlights an educational legacy that continues to bear fruit long after graduation.

Among the diverse educational offerings of the Salesian work in Argentina, agrotechnical schools are particularly valued.

They allow young people from rural areas to continue their studies without moving away from their homes, learning through productive practice. Many successful alumni have graduated from these institutions, such as Gabriel Guardia.

Inspiring Stories

Gabriel, a former student of the Salesian Work of Don Bosco in Rodeo del Medio, is now a reference in the olive industry. His work has led Argentina to rank first in the EVOO World Ranking on three occasions.

“My dad was a boarder, then it was my turn and my brother’s. The experiences I had in school have stayed with me for life. I believe that a very important value is that the school creates a healthy environment, providing support for the kids,” explains Gabriel.

His story is a clear example of how the values of effort, commitment, and responsibility acquired in his Salesian education are transformed into leadership and professional excellence.

Similarly, we find Nicolás Arrigo, also a former student of Rodeo del Medio. Nicolás has been instrumental in positioning Don Bosco oil at a national and international level, obtaining awards in prestigious competitions such as Olivinus, Argoliva, and Sol de Oro.

Currently, he manages the oil mill at Bodega Don Bosco, applying the technical knowledge and values instilled during his initial education. Nicolás summarizes it as follows: “I acquired great knowledge that allows me to carry out my work today, thanks to the practical experiences we had at the Salesian house. I currently work in what I like and am passionate about.”

Inspiring Stories from Different Regions of the Country

If we move to San José, Misiones, we discover another of the eight agrotechnical schools of Don Bosco in the country. There, inspiring stories are being written, such as those of Enrique Centurión and Ludmila Anayeli Correa, both graduates of the Pascual Gentilini Institute.

Enrique, for example, now leads a beekeeping enterprise with over 100 hives and provides technical assistance to others, establishing himself in a key sector for sustainable production.

“The Salesian house provided me with a solid knowledge base to start and sustain my enterprise. It also instilled in me essential values such as responsibility, teamwork, and discipline, and motivated me to keep improving. I am deeply grateful,” highlights Enrique.

Women are Part of the Experience

On the other hand, Ludmila is the first female graduate of the Salesian Agrotechnical Institute of San José and is currently studying Veterinary Medicine at UNNE.

“It was a very significant experience in my life. It provided me with a wonderful academic training and shaped me as a person by imparting values. It was much more than just a school to me,” shares Ludmila.

These inspiring stories demonstrate a powerful constant: Salesian education goes beyond shaping professionals; it molds individuals of integrity and engaged with their surroundings.

It equips its students to create value in what they do and to embody the spirit of Don Bosco in their daily lives.

Social organizations like Por los Jóvenes – Don Bosco play a crucial role in sustaining and raising awareness about this legacy, supporting alumni who are now transforming their communities through work, innovation, and a deep social commitment.
